It seems like one of Cousins, Laughton, and Raffi would be the most likely to be taken. That said, I feel like most teams will expose 3rd line players so maybe the target of vegas would be one of our d men, which id rather lose.

They will certainly hope that Vegas takes a guy like AMac or Read, but it will more likely be one of: Raffl, Cousins, or Laughton

I think it's clear Raffl, Weise, Cousins and Laughton are competing for the last two protected forward spots. But the more interesting situation to me is if the Flyers don't extend MDZ and have an open protection slot for a dman going into the summer. If you look at a team like Florida, they will have two promising RHD they won't be able to protect in Psysk and Petrovic.

Maybe the Flyers could trade an exempt forward like Lyubimov for one of them.

Pure hypothetical but if jake has a season like last year...50-60 pts while continuing to look out of sorts, is there anyone that would think about exposing him? I'd have to look at that personally

If we don't extend MDZ, could we just say that Raffl is a defenseman?

As long as he is healthy, I don't see that happening. I don't think he'll flirt with 80 points, but 22-25 goals and 65-75 points is probably reasonable and are legit top line numbers in today's NHL.

Not sure if it's injuries or what, but Read has pretty much regressed every year.
He's turned into another bad contract.

Just list him as a defenseman on the roster but play him at a forward position.

Huh. You know what? That's...interesting. It won't happen, but the argument could be made that if you had a younger player that you really wanted to keep and you really don't like what you see from a higher-salaried player, in theory, a franchise should do something like that

Just say, for hypothetical's sake, the expansion draft was a few years back. The Hurricanes could easily have looked at Eric Staal and said, "Huh. I think I'll risk it."

One time, just one (frank)ing time before you die, I'd like to see you post something positive and/or optimistic about the Flyers.

I agree, as do most people, that Read's contract has not been worth his production. But every (frank)ing thing you post is doom and gloom. Why even be a fan if you hate everything they do?

The first season I was willing to chalk it up to the high ankle sprain. Those things are a female dog and I am amazed he played through it.

Last season, while his possession numbers were actually very good, the actual scoring numbers didn't come back.

This is a real important season for him. He needs to get back in to that 15-20 goal range...if not, exposure for him.

I'd seriously look into trading him for any tangible asset before losing him for nothing.

I suppose. Or he's just one of those fans that isn't happy unless he has 1000 things to female dog about. Otherwise known as WIP callers.
